My name is Chelsey and Sugarbomb CK has been a work in progress for the past decade though I never really committed to it until recently. As a neurospicy creator, everything that I make represents a little piece of my soul in some way. It’s taken me a long time to figure out how to “follow the dopamine” and create satisfying art and products that quell the raging need to be unapologetically myself and encourage others to do the same. The goal for my company is to offer fun, satisfying, and helpful items that make day-to-day life just a little bit easier. Sugarbomb CK is just starting out as a company but is backed by a lifetime of creative training and experiences.
The Picky Pads are a new type of fidget toy that I stumbled into a bit by accident. After spending time outdoors, my two kiddos were scratching their bug bites so badly that it was harming their skin. I had heard about these fidget toys that help reduce skin picking and decided to make some as a small project with them just for fun. They LOVED them and their friends did too. Soon I was making all kinds of different Picky Pads to soothe all kinds of different needs and compulsions. I’ve observed first-hand how these silly little toys can help with dermatillomania, trichotillomania, anxiety, adhd and many other compulsive behaviours by redirecting focus and providing an outlet for restless energy.
Overall, Sugarbomb’s goals are simple: be weird, have fun, be kind.
