This painting shows one of many beautiful golden hour sunsets at the Whitney Pier, Sydney, Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. Whitney Pier was separated from Sydney’s central business district by lands occupied by Sydney Steel Corporation, at one time Canada’s largest integrated steel mill (no longer in business). Beautiful colour of the sky is reflected in the calm waters and quite waves and ripples of water in the quiet evening in Sydney Harbour.

Artist uses a combination of painting techniques with pallet knife and soft brush strokes, using small brushes for the details.
